Meet Ryu – the cuddle-loving Husky with a heart of gold!
With his striking black and white coat and sparkle-in-his-eye smile, one-year-old Ryu is as handsome as he is affectionate. This charming young Husky from Moose Factory Animal Control is all about love — cuddles, playtime, and being part of the action with both his people and doggy pals.
Ryu’s the kind of guy who greets everyone like a friend — men, women, kids, and even total strangers. If you’ve got a free hand for pets, Ryu’s got time for you! He can get a bit excited and jumpy when he’s overjoyed (those Husky “zoomies” are real), so little ones under six might find themselves in Ryu’s enthusiastic tumble zone. While Ryu is a friendly guy, he has not been tested with little children.
At home, Ryu is both house- and crate-trained, knows his basic commands (“sit,” “stay,” and “leave it”) and rides beautifully in the car. He listens well, loves learning, and is working on his leash manners — his “leash drama” around other dogs seems to come from excitement more than anything else.
Being a true Husky, Ryu is playful, clever, and just a touch mischievous — the kind who’d love to solve the mystery of how to reach that squirrel on the other side of the fence! A secure yard and someone ready to laugh at his antics are musts. He’s not big on water (except maybe after a dig session), but he’s such a good sport for bath time.
Ryu sleeps in his foster’s room — sometimes starts on the bed for cuddles, then happily settles on the floor with his canine buddy. He really seems to shine with another playful dog and would do best in a home with a confident, medium- to high-energy companion who can match his enthusiasm and help him build confidence.
