Meet Delilah — a gentle, soulful Cocker Spaniel who is just beginning to discover how beautiful life can be.
At approx. 6 years old, this red-and-white sweetheart is a former puppy mill mom who is quietly and bravely learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a home. Delilah may be shy at first, but with a little patience and kindness, her soft, trusting nature begins to shine.
She is calm and respectful with people, never jumping, and is happy to share her space with both men and women once she has had a moment to settle in. Delilah also does well with other dogs and has shown herself to be peaceful and easygoing in their company.
Though she doesn’t yet seek out the couch on her own, she happily relaxes beside you when placed there, enjoying quiet snuggles or simply being close. She can sleep either in her crate or with her person, whichever makes her feel most secure. She is not destructive, can be left uncrated when alone, and is a wonderfully quiet companion.
Delilah is still learning about the world around her. Everyday experiences like leash walking, household sounds, and new environments are all part of her journey, and she will need a patient adopter committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. She is currently working on house training and continues to make steady progress. This sweet girl enjoys her meals (especially with a little tasty topper) and loves a frozen Kong filled with yogurt as a special treat.
Delilah has received all of her veterinary care, including a recent dental cleaning with no extractions needed. She does have a mild (grade 2) heart murmur that is currently not causing her any concerns or symptoms but will need to be monitored with regular veterinary visits. Ongoing dental care will be important to keep her healthy. Her ears have also been treated and cleaned, and will need maintenance in the future to keep her at her very best.
Delilah would thrive in a calm, understanding home that can offer her reassurance, routine, and gentle encouragement as she continues to blossom. In return, she will offer quiet companionship, tender affection, and the joy of watching a once-timid dog grow into her confidence. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption.
