Meet Nala — a brilliant, devoted young German Shepherd with a big heart and an even bigger personality.
At just 18–19 months old, Nala is already impressively trained and eager to keep learning. In only a few short weeks, she has mastered commands like sit, stay, come, heel, and even offers both paws on cue. She responds to both verbal commands and hand signals, and on walks, she proudly heels right at your side without pulling. Smart is an understatement — Nala thrives when she has a confident handler who will continue to guide and challenge her.
Nala is deeply loyal and protective of her people. She forms strong bonds and will be a loving, devoted companion in the right home. She does best with two active adults who understand the needs of a working-breed dog and can give her the structure, exercise, and leadership she craves. Two daily walks and space to run are essential for this energetic girl.
She enjoys purposeful play — especially her beloved red Kong (a little peanut butter, frozen, is her favourite treat!) and interactive games like a flirt pole. Soft toys, however, won’t survive long with Nala, as she loves to chew.
At home, Nala appreciates routine and her own safe space. She sleeps soundly in her crate at night (with her cozy blue blanket) and will often take herself there for a quiet afternoon break. She is house-aware but will need supervision — she’s clever and curious, and if left unattended, may redecorate your yard or help herself to anything left within reach on the counter.
Nala gets along well with other dogs but should be fed separately, and introductions should be managed thoughtfully. She would do best in a home without small children and where her boundaries and training can continue to be reinforced.
Originally from Moosonee, Nala is a strong, resilient girl who is still learning to enjoy things like grooming and new experiences. With patience, consistency, and love, she will continue to blossom into an exceptional companion.
