Independent, clever, and full of puppy charm — that’s Missy! Born on August 14, 2025, in Moose Factory, Ontario, Missy and her five littermates came to Precious Paws Rescue after their mom was spayed and returned to her family. Now fully vetted and ready for adoption, Missy is looking for a home where she can continue to grow into the confident, happy dog she’s meant to be.
Missy has a wonderfully independent spirit. She’s perfectly content entertaining herself — whether that’s tossing a toy around, chasing after something that bounces, or settling down with a good chew. She enjoys cuddles, but only for a little while before she’s off on her next adventure or happily chewing a bone nearby. She’s the ideal companion for someone who appreciates a dog with a bit of spunk and self-assurance.
Like any puppy, Missy is still learning her basics. She’s working on potty training — she’ll whine when she needs to go out but hasn’t quite mastered going to the door yet. She sleeps in her crate for naps and overnight, and while she may whine a bit at first, she settles quickly and typically sleeps 6–7 hours through the night with just the occasional accident.
Missy is cautious but curious when exploring new environments and meeting new people. She’s also working on leash walking and her manners — including not nipping, jumping up, or grabbing clothing. With a bit of patience and consistency, she’ll continue to make great progress.
Missy would do well in a home that understands her independent nature and gives her the space to explore and play on her own terms — but who’s also there for the snuggles when she asks for them. She’s bright, playful, and full of personality, sure to bring both laughter and love to her new family.
