Audra is a sweet, gentle six-year-old miniature poodle who is ready to begin her next chapter in a loving home. This beautiful red girl is shy and submissive, but her confidence is growing every day.
Audra enjoys the company of both people and other dogs, and she is wonderful with male and female dogs as well as other animals. She is well mannered, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and handles distractions calmly. Audra is house trained (minus a few occasional accidents), does her business outside on walks, and can be left uncrated with another dog while her foster family is away.
As a former puppy mill dog, Audra is still learning that the world is a safe and happy place. She is making steady progress with separation anxiety and basic commands. She can be a lovable Velcro dog and may jump up when excited, but she is increasingly comfortable exploring on her own. Audra is not comfortable in a crate and prefers sleeping on a dog bed in the adults’ room. Occasional accidents may still happen as she continues adjusting.
Audra would thrive in a patient, understanding home with another friendly dog and, ideally, a securely fenced yard. She is a mellow, affectionate companion who simply needs time, reassurance, and someone to show her how wonderful life can be.
Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption.
