Luka is a sweet approximately 1-year-old Labrador/Poodle mix who’s ready to find his place in the world—and in some lucky family's heart. Originally from Moose Cree Nation Animal Control, Luka has been blossoming in foster care and showing everyone what a loving, loyal companion he can be.
This handsome boy is the perfect mix of playful and mellow. He enjoys the company of people (the more attention, the better!) and is friendly with men, women, children, and other . Luka dogs. Luka loves making new friends and is always happy to greet strangers with a wagging tail and bright eyes.
Luka is well on his way to being a wonderful family dog. He’s house trained, crate trained (sleeping soundly in his crate at night), and leash trained. He already knows several commands like sit, stay, come, off, and leave it—such a smart boy! He also rides beautifully in the car and can be left alone for periods without issue.
Like many young dogs, Luka is still learning. He can get a bit excited around other dogs and may lunge in his enthusiasm to say hello. He also has some mild resource guarding with high-value toys or food, so continued guidance and structure will help him build confidence and trust. Luka can experience some separation anxiety, so a home that can offer patience and reassurance will set him up for success.
He’s currently a little underweight but has a great appetite and is working toward his ideal size. His soft, curly coat will require regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.
At his core, Luka is a gentle, affectionate, slightly shy boy who just wants to be close to his people. With love, consistency, and a bit of continued training, he’s going to make an incredible companion.

Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption.
