Buddy is a 2-year-old mixed breed male, with a fun-loving personality and energy to match. He’s a happy, playful guy who is always ready for the next adventure, whether that’s exploring the backyard, going for a walk, or just being part of whatever his people are up to. He is incredibly friendly and social, and one of his favourite things is coming over to rest his head on your legs or lean in for pets and scratches.
Buddy has a great foundation and is eager to keep learning. He is crate trained, working on perfecting his housetraining, and already knows commands like sit, stay, come, paw, and down, which he picked up quickly (especially when snacks are involved). He’s a smart boy who listens well and enjoys training, making him a great candidate for continued learning. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys the outdoors, and while he may perk up at a squirrel like Dug from Up, he responds well when redirected. He settles nicely at home and even chooses to sleep in his crate with the door open at night.
Like many young dogs, Buddy is still figuring things out and has a few quirks that just make him uniquely him. He can be a little curious around food and may try to sneak a peek at what you’re eating, but he responds when corrected. He also doesn’t love being startled or having his hind legs touched, so he will do best with people who respect his boundaries and help him feel secure. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and a bit of patience, Buddy will continue to grow into a confident and well-mannered adult dog.
Buddy’s ideal home is an active one with an enclosed backyard where he can safely run and play. He would do best in a home with adults or teens who can understand his needs and continue guiding him with training and structure. In return, Buddy will be a loyal, affectionate companion who brings fun, love, and plenty of personality to his forever home.
