Meet Teddy, a senior Pomeranian with a big personality and a loyal heart. This clever little gentleman came to us from a Quebec shelter and is now ready to find a calm, understanding home where he can truly settle in and shine.
Teddy is house-, crate-, and leash-trained, rides well in the car, and has excellent overall manners. He enjoys a predictable routine, cozy sleeping spots in his crate or dog bed, and gentle affection—especially once he has built trust. While he may take a little time to warm up, Teddy forms strong bonds and is deeply devoted to his people, with a particular fondness for women.
As a mature dog, Teddy does have a few medical and behavioral considerations. He is currently on Fluoxetine, with Composure Pro used as needed during stressful situations, and any adjustments should be made under veterinary guidance. He also has patellar laxity, which is not currently limiting but will benefit from ongoing monitoring. Teddy can be sensitive with handling, particularly around his hind end and ears, and may guard high-value items, people or preferred spaces. He communicates clearly when uncomfortable and does best with respectful, patient handling.
Teddy would thrive in an adult home or one with teenagers who can understand his boundaries. He is an affectionate, intelligent companion who enjoys being close to his people and prefers a quieter lifestyle. For the right adopter, Teddy offers loyalty, character, and plenty of charm in a small, fluffy package. In return, he will require a home that can continue his training and maintain consistent boundaries to help address his resource guarding.
Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption.
