Billie is a 4 month old female Mastiff mix from Moose Cree Nation, with big paws, a bigger personality, and a future that is sure to be just as large. While her exact mix is a bit of a mystery, one thing is certain, she is growing into a big, lovable girl who doesn’t quite realize her size yet and is fully embracing life as a 35 lb lap puppy.
Billie is an absolute sweetheart who loves her people and thrives on companionship. She is crate trained, housetrained, and sleeps soundly through the night, often heading into her crate on her own when told “bed.” She does well in the car, is learning leash skills, and already knows “sit,” “down,” and “come.” She is very food motivated, which makes training both fun and effective, and she is currently working on slowing down her meals with a slow feeder. Billie also has a great off-switch and settles nicely for naps throughout the day, often choosing a cozy spot near her people.
Like any growing puppy, Billie is still learning her manners. She can be a bit jumpy when excited and is discovering that digging can be fun, so continued guidance and redirection will help her channel those instincts appropriately. She gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys their company. She has not yet been tested with cats or children, but due to her size and enthusiasm, she would likely do best with older kids who can help reinforce boundaries as she grows into her big body.
Billie would thrive in a home that can provide structure, routine, and continued training to help her become the best version of herself. A family who understands large breed puppies and is ready to guide her with patience and positive reinforcement will be rewarded with an incredibly loving and loyal companion. As her foster shares, “She is the biggest sweetheart ever, a very fast learner, and super food motivated.” Billie is truly a special pup who is ready to grow up right by your side.
